Hello Artists and Community

The list below highlights events happening during this year’s Sylvania Plein Air Festival. The festival kicks off on Sunday, August 2nd, and comes to a close on Friday, August 7th.

Be sure to experience the full magic of the Sylvania Plein Air Festival by attending the opening exhibition of Plein Air paintings at Hudson Gallery, Fuller Art House and participating downtown locations!

Public Schedule of Events

Sunday, August 2nd

8AM – 1PM: Registered Artists Check-in, Board Stamping -common space/Fuller Art House (back entrance).
4-6PM: Board Stamping – common space/Fuller Art House (back entrance).
Artists Paint All Day in and around Sylvania. Night (Nocturne) painting allowed.

August 3rd - August 4th

8AM – 10AM: Continued Board Stamping -common space/Fuller Art House (back entrance).
4-6PM: Board Stamping -common space/Fuller Art House (back entrance).
Artists Paint All Day in and around Sylvania. Night (Nocturne) painting allowed.

Wednesday, August 5th

8AM – 3PM: Artists Paint in and around Sylvania.
3-5 PM: Framing and art submission form help courtesy of Hudson Gallery at The Blacksmithing Shop in the Sylvania Historical Village. Note: artists are required to provide their own frames. Please plan in advance.
3PM-6PM: Professional and Emerging Drop-off at the Old Bookstore located next to Hudson Gallery – please see map.
3PM-6PM: Youth Drop-off – Heritage Sylvania
7:30PM-8:30PM Purchase Award sponsors select their paintings at the Old Bookstore located next to Hudson Gallery – please see map.

Thursday, August 6th

8AM – 12PM Quick Draw competition in downtown Sylvania. Artists meet at Fuller Art House (back entrance) at 8am to sign-in and get stamped.
12pm Quick Draw ends and all artwork is dropped back off at Fuller Art House (back entrance).
Artist Meet & Mingle – 5pm -7pm at Chandler Cafe Sponsored by Key Bank
Quick Draw winners announced between 6:15 and 6:30pm

Friday, August 7th

3PM -5PM Pick-up unaccepted artwork at the Old Bookstore located next to Hudson Gallery – please see map.
5PM – 8PM: Exhibition and Sale Opens to the public in conjunction with Red Bird Sylvania First Friday
5:45PM: Youth ceremony at Heritage Sylvania
6PM: Award Ceremony begins with Juror David Herzig starts at Fuller Art House and Hudson Gallery

This event is rain or shine – so plan to paint anytime 🙂 Wild weather often creates some of the most memorable and beautiful pieces !
